Sierra Register Committee register box plans and pictures from Robin Ingraham. Platform is 7 1/2" x 8 3/4". Side wall is 2 1/2" tall. The sidewall is bent four times at 90 degrees and soldiered to make a rectangle. Top is 6 x 7 1/2" and is soldiered on top of the side wall. Hinge is a 3/8" diameter bar that is soldiered to the side wall in the back. The hinge is attached to the base with a 5/8 diameter pipe that has been cut and soldiered to the base. Inside the box, there are three vertical aluminum pieces 1" tall x 2 1/2" long soldiered on the sides and front to keep the book from falling out when the lid is opened. The book is elevated from the bottom of the base with three 3/8" diameter. The book cannot be allowed to sit in water. The majority of the boxes I had made and placed involved casting the top of the box in a foundery so that our logo and letters of the peak would appear.
